Enriching the Lives of Employees, Clients, and the Local Community

Hello Friends,

During these uncertain times, we want to make sure we are here for our employees, our clients, and our community. This vision is reflected in our business’ core purpose: “Enriching the lives of employees, clients, and the local community”. To that effect, we would like to share some of what we have done, are doing, and will continue to do during this crisis in the hopes of giving you some inspiration during these trying times.

Supporting A Local Restaurant and the Mount Pleasant Police Department Simultaneously

Runey Associates Mt Pleasant Police Department

We wanted to find a way to support our local community first responders and at the same time support a local business. So, on April 3, we purchased lunch for the Mount Pleasant Police Department from local restaurant Coosaw Creek Crab Shack and its Operating Manager David Dean. We know that the food was awesome, and we hope that we were able to bring some joy to everyone’s day! Jamie Runey went to the police department, along with David Dean who brought the food, and handed out lunch to our officers at a safe social distance. The police department even posted it on Facebook, and we shared it as well! Check it out here.

Offering Free Financial Consultations to a Local Community in Need

Covid 19 Free Financial Consultation

We are offering free financial consultations via Lowcountry Local First, a non-profit organization providing services to local businesses. We have listed our free financial consulting services on the Town of Mount Pleasant Resources for Businesses During COVID-19 website, and we have also added a new COVID-19 meeting request type on our website for businesses and individuals who would like to seek free confidential guidance concerning their financial situation. If you know someone who could benefit from our guidance, please pass along this information or send us their contact details, and we will be happy to reach out to them.

Move from In-Person Meetings to Phone / Video Calls with Clients and CARES Act Support (including PPP)

For the safety of everyone we have moved all of our in-person client meetings to take place over the phone or via video. We are able to conduct our business virtually working from our various home locations, and we are therefore able to fully serve our clients. We are keeping constant contact through regular meetings, phone calls, video calls, emails, blog posts, etc. We are assisting some of our clients with their Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) applications, together with their accountants, and we are also here to lend emotional support and a listening ear. We always welcome your emails and phone calls, especially at a time like this. We are here for you!

Employee Engagement and Development during Crisis

Linda Engblom Runey Mount Pleasant Financial Advisor

While our team is small, our employees are our most important asset. Without our team we would not be able to support our clients or the local community. We are proud to be able to provide remote working options and a flexible schedule for our team members. Some of us now have to double as home schooling teachers as well, which creates an additional layer of complexity. Thankfully we can accommodate this situation by providing flexible schedules and work from home options.

Furthermore, our whole team is committed to serving the local community. We are very proud that James Palmer has joined the board of the FPA (Financial Planning Association) of South Carolina to do just that. One of James’ personal goals is to give back to the community and the financial planning profession that he loves. He was the driving force behind an effort at the FPA to launch a monthly newsletter to be sent to the FPA of South Carolina members. Click here to see the Member Highlight of James that was included in the first issue that was sent out this week! Way to go James!

We hope that you can see that through our actions and through our interactions with you. If you know of friends and family who can benefit from our level of commitment, please send them our way. We would love to help them!
