Trading dollars for chickens…?

It sounds like we're turning into farmers over here, but stick with us for a few minutes and we'll explain...

The age-old question is “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” But today’s question asks, “Do I have enough chickens to lay enough eggs to last through my retirement years?” In other words, “Do I have enough assets to live off the interest, while accounting for inflation and the like?” This is a great article that uses egg-producing chickens to make sense of a complicated question. It’s eggs-ellent. (Sorry, we just couldn’t help ourselves.)
